* Silver Mountain, Kellogg Elementary School and Kellogg Middle School parking lots will be the best spots for fireworks viewing Wednesday night.

UPDATE: The Fourth of July planning committee is looking for talent show contestants to participate in the Independence Day Celebration talent show. The show will have celebrity judges, trophies and prizes. There is no fee to sign up and all are invited to participate as the committee is in dire need of contestants. Rides open Friday, run through July 4

KELLOGG -- Wild West Carnival Company pulled into town Wednesday morning bringing with them an assortment of rides and attractions for the Fourth of July weekend celebration starting this Friday at 5 p.m. and running through the July 4.
The zipper, scrambler, octopus, ferris wheel, pony ride, merry-go-round, inflatable bouncer and large inflatable slide are a few of the rides the carnival will host this year. The carnival will also have game and food booths with cotton candy as well as ice cream and face-painting on the fourth.
The carnival is currently being set up on the Dave Smith Motors vehicle lot across from Kellogg City Park and adjacent to Teeters Field. The event will open at noon on Saturday and Sunday and close down around 10 p.m. every night it is in town. Times have not been set for Monday and Tuesday, July 2-3.
According to carnival Director Jeff Carter, rides will cost between one and three tickets depending on the ride. Tickets are $1 each, and there will be a $15 ride package available for designated time periods as well. Admission to the carnival is free.
